About Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have fielded many talented teams in their four-decade history but have only reached the Super Bowl once. Calling the past few years of the Atlanta Falcons turbulent would be a great understatement. However, over their history, the Atlanta Falcons have suffered adversity and bounced back time after time. After the much-publicized Michael Vick saga and the epic failure of head coach Bobby Petrino, the arrival of QB Matt Ryan and coach Mike Smith put the Atlanta Falcons. The Atlanta Falcons notched one of their best seasons ever in 2012, going 13-3. 2013 saw the tables turned, when the injury-laden Falcons went 4-12. This setback did enable the talented team to get great NFL Draft position, landing plenty of playmakers for the future.

Sixth-year QB Matt Ryan has taken over the role as the face of the Atlanta Falcons and has the pure talent and football smarts that fans love. The best friend for “Matty Ice” though is elite RB Steven Jackson, a bell-cow back that can rack-up 2000 yards on the ground. Excellent WRs Roddy White and Julio Jones can blow the top off of any defense, and will open up plenty of opportunities for the run game. SS William Moore captains a young defense that emphasizes speed to swarm opponents. The Atlanta Falcons defense features perhaps the best defensive line in football, with the likes of Kroy Bierman, Tyson Jackson, Paul Soliai, and Osi Umenyora.

With a roster flush with youth and anchored by some key veterans, Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith has all the tools to lead the NFC South for years. After taking the NFC South Title in 2012, the Atlanta Falcons regressed in 2013, going 4-14. Some of this was due to injuries at key positions, while other losses could be laid at the feet of the recovered New Orleans Saints and the rising Carolina Panthers. Reloading through the NFL Draft and free agency in the 2014 offseason, the Atlanta Falcons are ready to conquer the NFC South once again. The 2014 Falcons schedule will be easier than 2013, though they will face the tough AFC North.

The massive Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, is the home of the Atlanta Falcons. The Georgia Dome is often filled with thousands of Falcons fans, who are some of the most loyal and energetic fans in the NFL. Catch this young team on the rise in the 2014 NFL season when you order your Atlanta Falcons tickets from OnlineTickets.com today!
