The Southern power of the Allman Brothers band led to side project Gov’t Mule. Vocalist Warren Haynes and bassist Allen Woody were the power behind the newly reunited Allman Brothers, and the two soon wished to make their own Southern music. Straight out of Macon, Georgia, Gov’t Mule brings an old-school style to Rock that hearkens back to the glory days of 1970s Southern Rock with psychedelic influences from the 1960s. With help from the Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule released their first album Gov’t Mule in 1995.
