About Cyndi Lauper

Following a stint with the band Blue Angel in the late ‘70s, Cyndi Lauper soon landed a recording contract, which would mark the start of Lauper’s solo career. Cyndi Lauper’s first big hit came in 1983 with her debut album She’s So Unusual, which spawned a string of chart-topping hits, including “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “Time After Time,” “She Bop,” and “All Through the Night.”

After She’s So Unusual propelled Cyndi Lauper to stardom, Cyndi Lauper released the single “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough,” which served as the theme song for Steven Spielberg’s film The Goonies. Cyndi Lauper followed up with her sophomore album True Colors in 1986, which featured the No. 1 hit “True Colors” along with “Change of Heart” and a cover of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On.” True Colors reached No. 4 on the charts and went platinum to boot.

Cyndi Lauper’s third album A Night to Remember was released in 1989 and featured the hit “I Drove All Night.” Making appearances on the album were Bootsy Collins, Eric Clapton, Larry Blackmon, and Nile Rodgers. In 1993, Cyndi Lauper released her next album Hat Full of Stars which featured the tracks “A Hat Full of Stars” and “Sally’s Pigeons.”

In 2007, Cyndi Lauper began working on her latest album Bring Ya to the Brink. Describes as a dance album, Bring Ya to the Brink features Cyndi Lauper’s first single “Set Your Heart.” Cyndi Lauper will kick off her 2008 True Colors Tour in May 2008 alongside tourmates Rosie O’Donnell, The B52’s, Indigo Girls, Regina Spektor, and more.
